Az írói blogomon (fwscott.freeblog.hu) havonta szoktam jelentkezni egy összefoglalóval a Könyvhírek rovaton belül. Eddig csak a könyveim megjelenéséről írtam ide, ebbe a roppant szimpatikus blogba, de most két oka is van annak, hogy idekönyvhírezek. Az egyik, hogy ez most kissé átfogóbb, év eleji dolog, ami tartalmazza a 2009-es terveket is. A másik ok prózaibb: karácsony óta nem frissültünk, most ezt is pótolom. Lássuk csak!
- Legújabb könyvem, az Elásott titkok már a Vagabund Kiadónál van! A lektorálás is kész, a könyv így már csak borítóra és tördelésre vár, és elvileg február folyamán meg kéne jelennie (esetleg március elején). A kötet két kisregényt tartalmaz, melyek néhány régebbi olvasómnak meglepetésként szolgálhatnak: a címadó Elásott titkok ugyanis első (kis)regényem, a Naplemente kibővített, szétszerkesztett, átírt, megkevert változata, új szereplőkkel és új bonyodalmakkal kiegészítve. A másik kisregény A halál háromszöge címet viseli; ez azért különleges, mert ez volt életem első modern korban játszódó, krimivel elegyített kalandregénye. Természetesen ez is alapos átíráson és javítgatáson esett át…
- A Nagyvárosi mesék c. novelláskötetem ügye is rendeződni látszik! A könyv jelenleg egy magyarországi kiadónál van, melynek a nevét még nem szeretném elárulni. Annyit azonban megsúghatok, hogy a kiadó vezetőjétől már kaptam egy rendkívül pozitív visszajelzést. Most izgatottan várom a folytatást!
- Hétfőig még lehet küldeni a megfejtéseket a II. Sub Rosa nyereményjátékra! Aki szeretne szerepelni a regényben, bátran tornáztassa meg az agyát, és válaszoljon a blogon feltett öt kérdésre! Részletek ITT találhatók. (A blog egyébként újra aktív, sőt aktívabb, mint valaha!)
- A Szemfognaplót eddig kilenc országból olvasták, és több mint 1060 egyedi látogatót számlált, mindezt kb. két hónap alatt! A vidáman misztikus és misztikusan vidám online naplóregény láthatóan nagyobb érdeklődésre tett szert, mint gondoltam, vagy mint remélni mertem volna. A tervek szerint decemberig lesz aktív, addig folyamatosan fog frissülni, és az első év végén könyv formájában is megjelenik majd.
- Újabb író-olvasó találkozóra kerül sor, ezúttal Nagymegyeren, a városi könyvtárban. A rendezvény február 9-én (hétfőn), reggel nyolckor veszi kezdetét, és ugyan elsősorban a nagymegyeri iskolásoknak szól, a korán kelő érdeklődők is nyugodtan bekapcsolódhatnak a programba.
- A Pátria Rádióban szerdán elhangzott, hosszú beszélgetés nemsokára letölthető lesz innen, a blogról is.
- Végül a 2009-es tervek! Az Elásott titkok után várhatóan már megjelenik a Nagyvárosi mesék is, az eredetileg tervezett 15 helyett immár 19, esetleg 20 történettel! Áprilisig befejezem a Sub Rosát is, az onnantól számított fél éven belül annak is meg kéne jelennie. Jelenleg két könyvet készítek elő intenzíven: az egyik A templomos lovag munkacímet viselő magyar történelmi regény, amit a nyár végéig tervezek befejezni. A másik egy kisregény, amelynek egyelőre nem árulom el a címét, és azt sem, hogy pontosan miről is fog szólni. Egy irodalmi kísérletről van szó, amelyben keverni szeretném a történelmet, a horrort, a magyar népmeséket, a legendákat és a székely nyelv zamatát. Az év második felében várható Frank Wilson új kalandja, mely a La Manche-csatorna területén fog játszódni, és persze ismét egy létező történelmi rejtélyt fogok benne keverni a fiktív cselekménnyel, kalandos/krimis közegbe ágyazva. Az év utolsó regényeként pedig szeretném megírni A kilencujjút, a Cosa Nostra előzménytörténetét, melyben a foundhelli maffia kialakulását fogom bemutatni.

Békés, boldog, irodalomban és zenében gazdag Karácsonyt kívánok mindenkinek az alábbi kis történettel!

Karácsonyi meglepetés
– Hohohóóó, bolldog karácsonyt, bolldog karácsooonyt! – kiabálta a férfi, ahogy kitömött hassal, élénkpiros maskarájában, csengőt lengetve cammogott a járdán. A hangja még a normálisnál is mélyebbnek tűnt, ahogy a sűrű műszakáll félig eltakarta a száját.
Mire megérkezett a harmincemeletes épülethez, már szakadt róla a veríték. Abban a szerencsétlen csizmában sokkal nehezebb volt lépkedni, mint azt elképzelte. Szeretett volna hazamenni, de a zsákja még tele volt. Meg hát a pénz is kellett neki, főleg így az ünnepek alatt, amikor az ember kétszer- háromszor annyit költ, mint általában. Neki ez jutott: télapójelmezben flangálni Chicago utcáin, csengőcskét rázni, és idétlenül kiabálni.
– Hohohóóó, bolldog karácsonyt, bolldog karácsooonyt!
A portás és a többi földszinti dolgozó arcára őszinte kis mosolyt csalt a férfi megjelenése. Ők is azok közé tartoztak, akik majd csak telefonon kívánnak boldog karácsonyt a szeretteiknek. A váratlanul érkező Mikulás belekotort a zsákjába, és mindegyiküknek adott valami kis kedvességet: csokit, cukrot, vagy épp a Playboy legújabb számát.
A liftben megnyomta a 23-as gombot, és Sinatrát dúdolgatva várta, hogy a felvonó megálljon. Kilépett az üres folyosóra, és elindult egyenesen a sötét tölgyfa ajtó felé, a 302-es számmal ellátott irodába. Kopogtatott.
– Ki az?
– A télapó! – kiabált be boldogan. – Hohohóóó, bolldog karácsonyt, bolldog karácsooonyt!
Egy fekete öltönyös férfi nyitott ajtót, arcán kissé zavart mosollyal.
– Nem rendeltünk télapót – mondta. – Dolgozunk.
– Ugyan már, a karácsony mindenkinek jár! – mosolygott a Mikulás. – Nekem az a dolgom, hogy azt is felvidítsam, akinek ilyenkor dolgoznia kell.
– Hát… – A férfi tanácstalannak tűnt. – Nem is tudom, hogy…
– Ugyan már, Paulie, engedd be a Mikulást! – jött egy vidám hang odabentről. – Csak nem félsz tőle?
Paulie erre kitárta az ajtót a vendég előtt, akinek irreálisan széles vigyor jelent meg vattaszakálla alatt, ahogy végigfutott a szeme a díszes társaságon. Ott volt Jimmy Santini, Frankie Angelo, Tommy „Gun” Salvatore, a „Félszemű” Tony Antonio, és persze Paulie Genovese, aki ajtót nyitott neki az imént. Az egész színes bagázs, a Vitellini család legbefolyásosabb emberei.

A Mikulás beletúrt a zsákjába, és előkapta készenlétbe helyezett Thompsonját. A többiek arcára épp hogy csak kiült a felismerés, de még mozdulni sem volt idejük, amikor már felcsapott a fegyver torkolattüze. Végül a nagy íróasztalhoz sétált, és magához vette a vastag, nehéz aktatáskát. Nem kellett kinyitnia, jól tudta, mi van benne. Mielőtt kilépett volna a folyosóra, még kihúzott egy szép szivart Jimmy Santini zakózsebéből, és elrejtette a szakállában.
Miközben dúdolgatva sétált vissza a lifthez, arra gondolt, hogy már nem sokáig kell ebben a jelmezben parádéznia. Ennek a különleges karácsonyi fogásnak a Don úgy fog örülni, mint semmi másnak.

Remélem, levelem jó egészségben talál a kolostorban, s bár tudom, tested már fáradt, azért reménykedem benne, hogy tiszta lelked még megőrzött valamicskét ifjúkorod szenvedélyes tüzéből. Rég adtál hírt magadról, bár bevallom, ezekben a vészterhes időkben magam sem mertem volna levelet intézni hozzád, ha nem akad kezembe egy titokzatos irat.
A minap ismeretlen dokumentumra leltem kolostorunk könyvtárában. Eleinte önnön feledékenységemet véltem ludasnak az ügyben, de később saját szememmel győződtem meg róla, hogy ez a cím nem szerepel a kolostor könyvjegyzékében. Amikor megláttam benne a Te nevedet, kedves Adso, szavamra mondom, megrémültem, és Isten bocsássa meg bűnömet, de elemeltem a könyvet a polcról, hogy cellámban rejtsem el. Éjjelente, amikor tudtam, hogy nem kaphatnak rajta, gyér gyertyafénynél olvastam – mit olvastam, valósággal faltam – soraidat, melyekben azon szörnyű és titokzatos eseményekről adsz hírt, amiket ifjú novíciusként, tanítómestered, Guillamus de Baskerville oldalán éltél át.

Remélem, nem készítettél belőle másolatot, s az egyetlen példányt én őrzöm, cellám egy lazán tartó padlóköve alatt – mindaddig, míg békésebb idők nem köszöntenek ránk, s az őszinteség nem számít majd főbenjáró bűnnek.

Kedves Könyvbarátok!
Megjelent negyedik regényem, mely a Cosa Nostra címet viseli! A könyv a keményvonalas krimi és a maffiaregények keveréke. A történet egy kitalált városban, Foundhellben játszódik, és egy férfi erkölcsi lezüllését mutatja be, miközben bepillantást enged az Olasz Maffia működésébe is. Bár a regény cselekménye és helyszíne fiktív, a benne szereplő Francesco család szigorúan a szicíliai hagyományok szerint működik. A történeten kívül pedig megtalálható a könyvben egy, az Olasz Maffia hierarchiáját bemutató leírás, a nyolcvanas években megtalált Tízparancsolat, illetve egy név- és tárgymutató is.

Tizenhét éve ment el Freddie Mercury, a legendás Queen zseniális énekese. Számomra ő a huszadik század legnagyobb torka, a huszonegyedik század énekesei pedig meg sem érdemlik, hogy hozzá mérjük őket. Kicsapongó életet élt, zabolátlan és zabolázhatatlan ember volt, de elég csak pár dallamfoszlányt meghallgatnom bármelyik dalából, egyszerűen nem érdekelnek a ballépései, elfelejtem őket. Freddie Mercury művész volt, és ez csak nagyon kevés emberre igaz a pop/rock szakmából. Hiánya pótolhatatlan, és attól tartok, az is marad örökre…
